Wish you had more time? Hire a designer!

Moly and Norman talking about an design project.
One of the most common grievances we hear our clients say is they wish they had more time. The constant cycle of grant applications, mentoring and teaching commitments, and of course making presentations, eats into time that could be spent, well…"researching."

Sound familiar? But the research process doesn’t have to be a stressful hamster wheel. Let us show you how we (designers) can help you reclaim some of that time and get back in the lab!

Of course, all jobs have “business” that just needs to get done (you should see the paperwork our director powers through every day)! But in the contest of who has the most to do, academics seem to have drawn the short straw when it comes to extra work on top of their primary occupation. Some of these tasks, just have to be done, but others are very easily outsourced to people like us here in the Studio. Don’t believe us? Let us show you how we do it using our unique pipeline.

A breakdown of the Studio pipeline that allows us to create dynamic, multipurpose designs that save you time, funding and attract new opportunities.
Strategy and Planning

Perhaps not the first thing you think of when someone says “design.” But design, or more accurately, “design thinking” is all about problems solving. Strategy and planning is a big part of how we build larger systematic solutions that help us, help you get the most out of your designs.

It is more work in the short term, but it is worth taking a beat to put some extra thought into where else you might use your graphics.

This not only saves you time but in the long run, it also saves you funding as we can use this information you provide to build multifunctional designs you can use anywhere.

Multifunctional Designs

With or without a strategy, we still build some degree of multi-functionality into all our creations (just in case)! Depending on the design requirements, we can package up different aspects of our designs for you to use across different platforms and mediums.

For example, we can break down a technical illustration, and use the components as assets for further design projects. These could include animations, smaller graphics for presentations and document designs, social media posts – even as inspiration for branding, websites, app designs and all kinds of other creative initiatives you might not have thought of.

Patton’d Studios has been our go-to design house for everything from presentations to newsletters to websites and anything in between. I cannot recommend them highly enough for timely high-quality work, resourcefulness and for being willing and able to respond to requests with incredibly tight deadlines.

Punchy presentations for all occasions

Obviously, most of our presentation work is put into developing pitch decks for start-ups and educational content. But if it’s time saving, you’re after, there’s no reason we can’t create your conference keynotes and teaching presentations too!

These are often quite long presentations and can be a significant job for us to compile, but it comes down to how much you value your time. We know these presentations are often put together outside of work hours. Just think, if we could give you back that time and more, how would you spend it?

And, merging with the point above, we can generate templates, and find ways to make our designs as multi-functional as possible so you continue to reap the benefits as time goes on.

Just the beginning

We may not be in research, but we know all about finding new ways to save time, funds and (and sanity)! There are many ways we can help you save time – time that you can put back into lab work.

All we ask is that you keep an open mind whilst work our magic, and be prepared to invest a little upfront in order to reap the long term benefits of great graphics and time saved!
