WiSPP rebranding for International Women’s Day

International Women's Day is an important day for many reasons, and now we have one more - celebrating the launch of the Women in Science, Parkville Precinct (WiSPP) rebranding and new website.

To bring about this new look for WiSPP, Patton’d Studios teamed up with Edison Agency to undertake this rebranding project; creating a wonderful new identity and website to better reflect the team of volunteers that make up the WiSPP collective and do justice to the work they produce.

Translating designs to digital

Once the sleek new rebranding by Edison Agency was complete, it was over to us to do it justice. We took the design elements and wonderfully whimsical illustrations produced by the Edison team to create additional media and a brand new website.

Working with the WiSPP committee, we produced a succinct site map that expressed who they are, how they advocate for change, and new opportunities for their members and broader network to get involved.

Aside from the build itself, we also produced on-brand headshots of all WiSPP committee members, optimised existing media for web use and created additional infographics to showcase the organisation’s impact.

Patton’d Studios were brilliant to work with. They understood the complexities of our unique organisation and created a new website that succinctly and dynamically represented our “what”, “why” and our “impact.” Molly and her team offer an invaluable service to support scientists and organisations communicate their work in innovative and visually exciting ways.

Why launch on International Women's Day?

International Women’s Day is a day for all individuals and organisations to reaffirm their commitment to gender equity and inclusivity. The theme for 2021 is “Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world.” The team at WiSPP felt this aligned with many of the challenges they face. In particular, the constant underrepresentation of women in senior leadership throughout the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) sector.

Working with non-profits

This isn’t our first rebranding project in the volunteer and non-profit space. We had a blast working on the recent rebranding of  Yfoundations who represent young people at risk of, or experiencing homelessness. We thoroughly enjoyed the process look forward to more projects with both organisations.
